Michael is a Public Educator with over five years’ experience in educating community members on crime prevention, public safety, and community development. In his position, working in accordance with the Calgary Police Service, he has created YouthLink’s Gang Life Ends Here, Cannabis Education, and the Cyber Safety program.
Michael studied Biological Sciences at the University of Calgary. Although his education is unrelated to his current field of work, he has always valued working with youth and their families. He has worked with people living with disabilities, vulnerable youth, in the PChAD and PSECA programs, and immigrant families.
Michael moved from Korea in 2001 when he was 13 years old. Since then, he has not had any opportunities to connect with people who share his culture. He felt grateful to be a speaker for Calgary Korean Women’s Association.
