2025 Activities and Event Overview

During the year of 2025, the CKWA participated in as well as organized events and activates throughout each month.

January

  • Korean New Year Day (Seollal) – Senior Dinner Hosted a cultural gathering to celebrate Korean New Year with seniors, promoting respect, tradition, and community connection.

February

  • Valentine’s Day Event – Creative activities celebrating friendship and appreciation through art.
  • Chinook Blast Festival – Participated in a winter cultural festival, sharing Korean art and culture with the wider community

March

  • International Women’s Day Celebration Honored women’s contributions through art-focused activities and cultural discussions.

April

  • Canada International Ladies Leadership Program Event – Hosted/participated in a leadership-focused event supporting women’s empowerment, international collaboration, and leadership development.

May

  • Lilac Festival Showcased creative works inspired by spring and nature.
  • Asian Heritage Month Festival – Promoted Korean culture and art as part of Asian heritage celebrations.

June

  • Black Diamond Parade – Participated in a community parade representing Korean culture.
  • Law Seminar – Educational session providing legal awareness for members and community participants.
  • Service Canada Seminar – Informative seminar supporting community knowledge and access to public services.
  • Korean Presidential Visit to Calgary during the G7 Summit – Participated in and supported cultural and community-related activities connected to the visit of the President of the Republic of Korea to Calgary during the G7 Summit. The event highlighted international cooperation, cultural exchange, and strengthened ties between Korea and Canada.

July

  • Stampede Festival Participation – Engaged in cultural exchange during a major local festival.
  • RBC Finance Seminar – Financial literacy seminar for members and community participants.
  • Summer Camp – Organized creative and cultural activities for youth during summer break.

August

  • Summer Camp (Continued) – Extended summer programming with art, culture, and teamwork activities.
  • Sports Day – Encouraged health, teamwork, and community bonding through sports activities.

September

  • ATB Korean Culture Day – Celebrated Korean culture through art displays and performances.
  • Alberta Culture Day – Participated in province-wide cultural celebrations to promote diversity and inclusion.

October

  • ROME Supporting Event – Supported community initiatives through volunteer and cultural engagement.

November

  • Finance Seminar – Continued financial education initiatives.
  • Kimchi Day Celebration – Celebrated Korean culinary heritage and culture.
  • Singing Contest – Encouraged creative expression and member participation through performance.

December

  • Year-End Party – Reflected on the year’s achievements and celebrated members’ contributions.
  • Board Member Training – Conducted leadership and governance training to strengthen the club’s future operations.
