Celebrating Our Heritage

The Calgary Korean Women’s Association (CKWA) is a non-profit organization founded in 2011.

We are committed to supporting Korean-Canadian women to be involved in all facets of society. We offer programs and opportunities for them to gain knowledge and skills, find new avenues to grow, and take care of their whole selves.

Membership in our association is open to anyone who shares in our vision, mission, and guiding principles, regardless of age, gender and ethnicity.

Our Current Projects

Community Wellness Project: Healthy Lifestyle, Healthy Outlook

The overall goal of this project is to improve the quality of life for not only our community but anyone who can benefit from the sessions we will be organizing. The sessions will re-connect attendees with the community at large, facilitate a sense of belonging, and feel safe to reach out to each other for support, and encourage sharing experiences, most of all knowing how to cope in times of adversity, feeling secure, and developing healthy lifestyles.

The project aims to provide a broad, yet specific sense of overall wellness for long-term impact, including physical, mental/emotional, financial, social, spiritual, occupational, and environmental wellness. Expert speakers will offer sessions that will provide information on best practices, and tips with a broad, yet specific sense of what overall wellness means for a long-term impact.
